Eastern Times, New Delhi : Samyukta Kisan Morcha(SKM) has called upon all farmers to observe 26 June, 2021 as “Kheti Bachao, Loktantra Bachao” with protests at the Governor’s house in all states and UTs. It is being organized on the date of completion of 7 months of the protests by farmers in Delhi and the 46th anniversary of imposition of Emergency.
It will be held as a ‘Rosh March, Dharna, Pradarshan’ and ‘Rosh Patras’ (letter of anguish) addressed to the President of India will be handed over to the Governors and Lt Governors respectively.
SKM also decided to observe ‘Hul Kranti Diwas’ on 30 June at all borders. Members from tribal areas will be invited at dharna sites on that day.
SKM has extended its full support to the tribals of village Selegaar on the border of Sukama and Bijapur districts, who are fighting against the government’s decision to establish a CRPF camp in the area. This land comes under the 5th Schedule of the Constitution and the land is being taken over without any referral/ decision of the Gram Sabhas. SKM has condemned the police firing on protesting tribals on May 17 in which 3 Tribals died on the spot, one pregnant lady tribal died later, 18 were injured and 10 are missing.
SKM has expessed deep concern at the twist and malicious propaganda being done by RSS- BJP leaders in the incident of suicide at Tikri border on 17th June. Facts in this regard including the available videos have been presented to the SP, Jhajjar yesterday by SKM leaders and SKM has demanded a fair enquiry into the incident.
SKM has condemned the BJP leaders and its IT cell for blaming the farmers movement and trying to malign the image of ongoing peaceful farmers agitation. Tikri border committee has already issued a clarification.
SKM decided to continue protests against BJP/JJP leaders in Haryana peacefully and oppose the entry of these leaders on 21 June when the government is going to observe International Yoga Day in 1100 villages.
SKM condemns the baseless FIR lodged against more than 50 SKM protestors at Dhansa border and arrest of one leader by the Jhajjar police. SKM demands immediate withdrawal of the case and has warned that if this is not done local protests against these false cases and arrests shall be intensified.
SKM has demanded release of AIKM’s physically handicapped member and his family who were picked up by the Sonbhadra police after he had gone with the delegation to present a memorandum to the administration on May 26th. It has condemned this inhuman torture and false implication.
