“Thali Peeto” During Man Ki Baat, On 27th
Eastern Times , New Delhi : Working Group of All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee (AIKSCC) has severely criticized the Govt’s refusal to recognize the Demand of Farmers to “repeal the 3 Farm Acts and the Electricity Bill 2020”, leave alone solve it.
The letter sent by the Govt on 24th December is full of reference to ‘demands identified in Dec 3 talks’ on which the govt claims it has sent its proposals and asks for ‘other issues’ which the farmers may want to discuss.
AIKSCC said the reply sent by farmer’s Unions had stressed that it is the govt which insisted on specific clause wise objections. While enumerating them, farmer leaders clearly explained how these clauses as components of these Act are detrimental to the security of farmers land and markets and how they serve Corporates and MNCs entering agriculture markets – policy wise, in their orientation, their basic purpose and their Constitutionality, and hence are not acceptable.
However, the govt has deliberately ignored this. It is clear that the govt has no intention to solve the demand being raised by farmers for last 7 months, for which more than 2 lac farmers are on an indefinite dharna in Delhi for last 29 days.
AIKSCC has said that govt’s claim of having an open mind and sympathetic approach is pretentious. Its mind is completely closed and fixed on some reforms in the Acts. It is trying to dodge the people of India and discredit the farmers movement.
The Govt’s game plan is frustrate the farmers by trying to show they are not coming for talks. The farmers leaders have never refused any talks.
They are in no hurry and are here to stay on the highways till the Acts are repealed.
The strength at all 4 dharna sites is increasing with back up plans for months. More sections are arriving from all neighbouring areas and far-off states.
Today Maharashtra Jatha of 1000 farmers arrived at Shahjahpur, while thousands have left Uttarakhand to join Ghazipur. Meanwhile regular protest programs and permanent dharnas are on in nearly 200 districts.
AIKSCC has criticized the adamant attitude of the Govt and has stated that the Govt is insensitive to the future and survival of farmers and to their sufferings in conditions of cold.
AIKSCC has called upon all units to observe 26th December, the occasion of completion of 1 month of Delhi protest as “Dhikkar Diwas” as well as “Anti Corporate Protests targeting Services and Products of Ambani and Adani”.
The Dhikkar Diwas is to Damn the govt for being insensitive and its refusal to address the farmers demand for last several months and despite such huge protest in Delhi for last 1 month in this bitter cold.
Farmers will also beat plates, thali peeto on 27th during Modi’s “man ki baat”.
AIKSCC has also condemned the continuing repression in Haryana, UP and MP by BJP govts. The false charge of section 307 on 13 farmers of Haryana, who were allegedly part of the protest against CM Manohar Lal Khattar, is an attempt to throttle genuine dissent. It will only inspire more protests.
