Eastern Times Correspondent, Dhaka, 4 September : Bangladesh Army Chief General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed left for India on a three-day official visit on Saturday (September 4) morning.
He left Dhaka for India on a Bangladesh Air Force aircraft.
A press release issued from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed the information.
During the visit, an eight-member delegation is accompanying the army chief, according to the release.
The army chief will meet with the Indian national defence adviser, Indian chief of defence staff, chief of army staff, chief of naval staff, chief of air staff, Indian secretary of defence and other senior military officials.
During the meetings, General Shafiuddin will discuss the bilateral relations and cooperation between the armies of the two countries.
The army chief is also expected to visit various Indian military and national defence colleges.
General Shafiuddin will also pay a courtesy call on the Bangladesh High Commissioner to India, during the visit.
