
Eastern Times, Mumbai : Kanchan Nannavare(37), who was a prisoner at high-security Yerwada Central Prison in Pune,Maharashtra, since six and a half years died at the Sassoon General Hospital on Sunday. Where she was under treatment for brain clots.
Nannavare had serious health conditions, including a worsening heart disease. Her application for urgent bail under medical grounds has been pending in the Bombay High Court.
Kanchan was first arrested in September 2014, while running a book stall selling revolutionary literature. After being arrested in the present case she was implicated in six more false cases.
She has been acquitted in 5 of them. Apart from the Pune case one more remains at Gondia, but the judge refused her bail and is showing no intention of starting the case. All taken together point towards a grand design to finish her off judicially.
